Poliuretano Espanso Visco Elastico

ViscoElastic

Viscoelastic foam, also called “Memory foam”, has a cellular structure capable of combining a superior ability to model itself to the body conformation combined with the normal property of Polyurethane to return to its original shape.

Memory foam was originally developed by NASA for use by astronauts, in order to help them during periods of increased G-forces, such as lift off and re-entry.

What was needed was a product that gave perfect support for long periods of time, adapting to the weights and temperatures of the bodies and continuously molding to their shapes, minimizing pressure points.

Benefits

From the experience gained over the years, the development of this particular technology has never stopped and started to be widely used for its particular ability to adapt to the body temperature and weight and for its ability to absorb vibrations.

When we sleep, the weight of our body is normally spread on the mattress in particular areas (shoulders, hips and pelvis), which are called “pressure points”. This causes a reduction of blood circulation. That’s for this reason that, during the rest, our body automatically repositions itself to reduce pressure points and to avoid annoying tingling.

Sleeping on a ViscoElastic mattress, which memorizes the shape of the body and perfectly molds itself to it through the thermic action, the weight is distributed evenly over the entire surface of the mattress itself, significantly reducing pain and maintaining a correct posture of the body, vertebral and cervical column. The number of position changes, which interrupt sleep, is also decreased, resulting in a deeper and more relaxed sleep.

Viscoelastic Polyurethane

SlowEmotion, il poliuretano viscoelastico

Why SlowEmotion®?

Pelma's R&D Lab, constantly engaged in improving process and product performance, in collaboration with the most important raw material suppliers, formulated and developed a new type of ViscoElastic Foam with superior characteristics, based on VPF (Variable Pressure Foaming) Technology: excellent touch sensation, slow return to original shape, high physical properties and temperature sensitivity.

SlowEmotion® Features

  • ANALLERGIC: like all Polyurethane Foams
  • BREATHABLE: the cellular structure makes it particularly suitable for applications that require prolonged static
  • ERGONOMIC AND COMFORTABLE: thanks to the high ability to mold to the body
  • ECO-FRIENDLY AND RECYCLABLE: totally free from CFC / HCFC, formaldehyde, plasticizers and phthalates
  • HYGIENIC: Thermofresh and Climafresh are bacteriostatic Polyurethanes thanks to the use of the Ultrafresh treatment which involves the combination of several elements, including silver
  • FIRE RESISTANT: in the Modified Combustion variant
  • LONG-LASTING: it was developed to keep its features in long periods of time
  • UNIQUE: completely developed with Pelma technologies to be unique and hard to clone, it is produced in continuous (not molded): for this reason it has uniform density and mechanical and physical properties
  • CERTIFIED: the human-ecological requirements established by OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100 Class I and CertiPUR are respected

These characteristics make SlowEmotion® particularly suitable for the production of high quality mattresses and pillows, for padded products for children, mats, pillows and cushions, for sanitary applications, in the furniture sector, both for seats and backrests , in gym.

Other interesting applications are both for the automobile market and for the construction industry, thanks to the soundproofing and insulation properties; for the packaging market thanks to the shock-absorbing feature.

In order to satisfy any of our customers’ needs, SlowEmotion® can be supplied in blocks, straight sheets, shaped sheets and rolls.
